However, on AMRT's site I found a trick to make a card's partition image with the use of ddrescue.
I tried to scan the produced partition image with the latest (static) PhotoRec and it did an excellent job to me without using any additional scripts and tricks. I just mistakenly formatted my GoPro HERO4 Black card with a 30 GB of valuable video and wrote a timelapse on top of that. Despite the fact PhotoRec does not list MP4 in its formats in the settings of the program (only MP3 is there), it does list it on the official site and simple run without touching any setting did the excellent job for me. All videos were restored, with audio and metadata intact (with a date and time when shots were taken etc.). Only filenames were missing, but that is a not a big deal at all.
Give PhotoRec a try.Something in the Wayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00064532816569298906noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8905821152184877575.post-84443509958342991022015-04-22T23:03:35.958-07:002015-04-22T23:03:35.958-07:00I recover my gopro from here, same use. save my li...I recover my gopro from here, same use. save my life too. just share another solution that hope can help
http://www.jihosoft.com/recover-data/recover-video-from-gopro-hero.html Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18190200192692570983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8905821152184877575.post-89530660162869998562014-01-14T05:00:28.599-08:002014-01-14T05:00:28.599-08:00Excellent! I was going to look at it at some point, honest!Ryan Bealeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01099032880168465804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8905821152184877575.post-39532766867811463722014-01-13T13:55:19.268-08:002014-01-13T13:55:19.268-08:00Thanks for your post Ryan, it helped me in my firs...Thanks for your post Ryan, it helped me in my first steps to recover my lost videos. But, I also wanted to recover the audio from my videos.

That's why I developed a small script capable of recovering lost/deleted videos from the SD Card. It can be found here :
http://allonlinux.free.fr/Projets/AMRT/

This script really recover the complete video and doesn't require to run the Perl script from "tchiers", because the video header used will be the original one !Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8905821152184877575.post-60193795968325333392013-05-13T04:27:06.528-07:002013-05-13T04:27:06.528-07:00Saved my life, thanks very much!Saved my life, thanks very much!Marcohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00952986190217587702noreply@blogger.com
